A splendid day

It has been a very hot and sunny day. I was driving 150 miles, and wearing modest rubber gear - SBR mack, cap, boots and shiny black plastic gloves obver a black sweatshirt and black chinos. It was really hot.

At one point I parked, walked off the road on to a hillside and lay in the full sun for ten minutes on my back and then on my front. This was excellent endurance training. Later I stopped at a roadside trailer and drank tea, to the interest of the proprietor. I stood in the full sun, and that really tested me.

I must admit though that after that when driving I found that if I put my arm out of the windowe a cool draft blew up my sleeve. Hot, really hot, air blew out of my collar.

This evenng I geared up properly - catsuit with hood, trousers, back-zip jacket, exxtra hood, belt and then SBR mack. My long thin gloves are sealed between the sleeves of the suit and the jacket, with heavy long gloves as well. The effect is really tight overall, and heavy too. It feels really good, and is a challenge on a warm evening. I walked to the local pub where I am well-known, and enjoyed sweating and drinking beer allevening. I am still inn my gear at 1 am, having been looking at the rubberist.net postings. I shall now stretch out on a latex sheet, pull another over me, and sleep fully geared and booted. I shall not though put on my full-face hood. It is tempting though,as is turning up the heating ! But I must not overdo it - that is dangerous

Hot weather is great!

The beauty of hot weather for a keen exhibitionist rubberist is that as well as being a challenge to endure going round in the sun in overall black rubber, you attract more interest than usual. It is though surprising how little that is, except for young people as I have described before. I have indeed been much photographed, wearing my shades, so not too recogniseable, by the young with camera phones.

I have been seeing from time to time living statues, usually covered in silver paint, and standing, sometimes sitting, to attract intererest and contributions. How well would a rubber robot do - catsuited, full-face hooded and dark goggled, gloved and booted and belted? The robot would move jerkily from time to time, otherwise stand still. I see difficulties in finding a pitch and arriving fully geared to start. An assistant to drop one off nearby seems essential. I wonder how long I could keep it up, and how much interest there would be. It is an attractive fantasy. What would be a suitable charity to which to pass the takings? Or would be laberlled, "For amusement only"?

I have been surprised in going around to meet or be contacted by only one rubberist who was in vanilla or ordinary clothes and with whom I had an interesting talk. I suppose rubberists are really rather rare. And women in rubber in public very rare birds indeed, though a SBR mack would be a sure-fire way of making some men friends. One sees biker girls, riding solo, and they look very good and know it.

To have one's blog recognised as a rubber blog in the list on the IAR rubberist.net site, which I recommend to those who do not know it, the blog has to be frequently updated, and both interesting and provocative of discussion. I do not I fear qualify. These are just my thoughts, and some accounts of my experiences.

If you can write a comment, then I might in reply be more interesting - an easy way for you to have your say anonymously.

When I find out how to do it, I shall try to include some pictures. The same applies to links to other rubber blogs.

Till then, I remain, Rubberist Blackie.
